Trade, economic, educational and tourist potential of Uzbekistan was presented in the Chelyabinsk region of Russia

At the initiative of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, together with the South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an event dedicated to the trade, economic, educational and tourism potential of our country was organized, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The event was attended by representatives of enterprises of the Chelyabinsk region working in the spheres of production of building materials, food and textile products, in the field of tourism, hotel business and logistics, as well as representatives of higher and specialized educational institutions of the region.

The President of the South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fyodor Degtyarev in his speech spoke about the work done to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the Chelyabinsk region and the regions of Uzbekistan. He especially noted the growth of trade turnover between the countries and emphasized that the Chelyabinsk region rose to second place in terms of trade with Uzbekistan after Moscow.

Consul General Jakhongir Parmonov told the participants in detail about the conditions created in Uzbekistan and the investment potential for foreign and local entrepreneurs, as well as about the functioning free economic zones. In addition, the Russian side was familiarized with the support measures for citizens of Uzbekistan and their family members temporarily working abroad.

During B2B meetings with representatives of educational institutions, steps were discussed to establish bilateral cooperation in the field of education. In particular, the Uzbek side proposed opening branches of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of the Chelyabinsk region in the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as developing joint programs for training specialists in engineering, IT technologies, medicine and other fields.

As part of the event, a stand dedicated to the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan was also organized. This allowed not only to demonstrate the tourism potential of the republic, but also to attract the attention of potential tourists to Uzbekistan.
