President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Batu Export enterprise located in the Parkent district, the press service of the head of our state reports.
This modern project was implemented through investments of 15 million dollars. As part of the enterprise’s activities, up to 5 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables are processed annually. Fruit and vegetable products from the Tashkent, Samarkand and Fergana regions, as well as from neighboring Afghanistan, are used as raw materials.
The enterprise is equipped with modern equipment from Japan, Germany, Belgium and China, which ensures high quality of products and their competitiveness in the foreign market. Today, the enterprise has created 180 permanent jobs, the average salary of employees reaches 7 million soums per month.
The manufactured products are exported to the CIS countries, the European Union and the United Arab Emirates.
The head of state got acquainted with the production process and talked to the employees of the enterprise.
– The Parkent district has huge potential in the field of fruit and vegetable growing. With modern technologies, we have all the opportunities to export fresh and dried fruits to the world market. Let’s take Japan, for example – there is a very high interest in products from Uzbekistan. The main thing is to ensure high-quality care of the gardens and delivery of fruits in proper form. If we develop such enterprises, this industry alone can generate income of several billion dollars, the President noted.
Export-oriented agricultural products of the Tashkent region were also presented here. Last year, the volume of fruit and vegetable exports from the region amounted to 130 million dollars. However, given the natural conditions and potential of the region, this figure remains insufficient.
In order to stimulate export activities, seven types of financial support and three tax breaks and preferences are provided for enterprises. There are 175 enterprises processing fruit and vegetable products in the Tashkent region, and the level of processing is steadily growing every year. A significant increase in export figures is expected this year.
