Krasnoyarsk Krai and Uzbekistan are interested in developing and improving long-term cooperation

Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk Aslam Akbarov met with First Deputy Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai Sergey Ponomarenko, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

During the meeting, the First Deputy Head of the region highly praised the current development of interregional cooperation with Uzbekistan, in particular between Krasnoyarsk Krai and Surkhandarya Region.

As the Vice Governor noted, this region of Russia is particularly interested in further deepening trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and investment cooperation with Uzbekistan in the long term.

Particular emphasis was placed on improving the logistics chain “Uzbekistan – Krasnoyarsk Krai”, which implies, first of all, the creation in the near future of a separate transport and logistics Center for the import of Uzbek fruits and vegetables.

Consul General of Uzbekistan Aslam Akbarov paid special attention to the issue of strengthening the position of domestic products in the Krasnoyarsk Krai market.

In particular, in addition to agriculture, it was proposed to consider the issue of establishing the production of baby food in Uzbekistan, as well as increasing the volume of equipment and materials imported from our country for the textile industry of the Krasnoyarsk Krai.

The Russian side also emphasized the growing interest of Krasnoyarsk tour operators in increasing the tourist flow to Uzbekistan from the Krasnoyarsk Krai, especially in such areas as gastronomic, ethno and historical tourism.

The key topic of the negotiations was cooperation in the field of education. The parties exchanged views on increasing the number of Uzbek students to study on a budget or grant basis at leading universities of the Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand bilateral industrial cooperation, hold a business forum in the city of Krasnoyarsk with the participation of representatives of business circles of the Surkhandarya, Fergana and Samarkand regions, organize a separate business mission in the fall from among the leading entrepreneurs of the Krasnoyarsk Krai to the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as an info tour to our country for leading Krasnoyarsk tour operators.
