Uzbek-Pakistani business cooperation reaches new level

At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Uzbek-Pakistani business forums were held with the participation of the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of our country and a delegation of entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

The forums were aimed at further deepening mutually beneficial ties between entrepreneurs of the two countries and creating a basis for new joint projects.

More than 60 Pakistani entrepreneurs working in the fields of agriculture, leather processing, pharmaceuticals, tourism, construction, logistics and trade took part in the business forum at the CCI of Rawalpindi. The Chairman of the Chamber Shavkat Usman presented information on the state of Uzbek-Pakistani trade relations and the role of the CCI in this process.

Deputy Chairman of the CCI of Uzbekistan Akobir Tukhtayev gave a presentation on the investment climate in the country, the conditions created for foreign investors, and promising areas for cooperation.

Following the discussions, initiatives were put forward to create the Uzbek-Pakistani Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry and organize an exchange of industry delegations by the end of the year.

More than 70 local entrepreneurs took part in the business forum at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Chairman of the Chamber Nasir Qureishi noted the need to establish a permanent dialogue between the business circles of the two countries, expand cooperation in the direction of producing import-substituting and export-oriented products.

Representatives of Uzbek businesses made presentations on the conditions created in the country, opportunities for joint projects and prospects in the field of digital trade.

Preliminary agreements on joint projects in the textile, pharmaceutical, leather and wool processing industries were reached at B2B meetings within the framework of the forums.

In conclusion, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the Islamabad Chamber delegation to the Jizzakh, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya and Bukhara regions this year.
