The achieved results and new projects in the Namangan region were reported

On July 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a report on the effectiveness of the reforms, progress of work and new projects in the Namangan region, the press service of the head of our state reports.

In accordance with the Presidential Resolution of December 2, 2024, measures were defined for the further socio-economic development of the Namangan region, improving the investment climate and business environment. In particular, for 2025, it was planned to attract investments in the amount of 4.2 billion dollars, ensure exports for 1 billion dollars, create 323 thousand jobs and lift 55 thousand families out of poverty.

The main factor here is small business and entrepreneurship: 82 percent of the working population of Namangan are employed in this area.

Since the beginning of the year, about 1.6 billion dollars of investment have been attracted to the region. However, most of them were in the city of Namangan and the central regions, while in such regions as Mingbulak, Naryn, Uychi and Chartak, the volume of investments needs to be increased. In the export sector, it is also necessary to expand the range of goods and activate the potential of remote areas.

The region’s agriculture also produces high yields. In Yangikurgan district alone, the income per hectare exceeds 20 thousand dollars.

In order to make the most of these opportunities, the President initiated an administrative and economic reform of the territories. A “reform headquarters” began work in Namangan region, which included specialists, leading entrepreneurs and foreign experts. As a result of their joint activities, additional projects worth 1 billion dollars were formed.

At the meeting, the responsible persons presented these new opportunities. As noted, the implementation of these initiatives will lead to the creation of 12 thousand jobs, the receipt of 200 billion soums to the budget and exports worth 160 million dollars.

For example, in the Naryn district, it is planned to introduce an intensive method of fish farming in households, and in Mingbulak, to develop duck farming. These areas are important in terms of food security and the creation of many jobs. The President emphasized the need to disseminate this experience to other regions of the country.

Currently, there are 55 thousand unemployed citizens and 44 thousand low-income families in the region. The task has been set to orient them toward mastering professions, helping them find employment and creating a source of income right at home. Instructions have also been given to strengthen the social environment and turn mahallas into crime-free areas.
