On July 8-9, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov paid an official visit to Georgia, the press service of the Ministry reports. During the visit, the delegation of our country held a series of meetings with Georgian officials, where they discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the regional and international agenda.
Uzbekistan delegation was received by the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili. During the meeting, the parties confirmed the high level of political contacts, noted the consistent development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, and expressed their readiness to further expand multifaceted cooperation.
During the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, issues of deepening economic cooperation and intensifying political dialogue at the highest and high levels were discussed, and agreement was reached on the bilateral agenda for the short and long term.
Also, a meeting was held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili. The parties exchanged views on the main aspects of relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia and identified priority areas for further cooperation. Following the talks, the Cooperation Program between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Georgia for 2025-2026 was signed.
A meeting was held with Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament. It was noted that interparliamentary dialogue is an important tool for strengthening the interconnection and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
During the visit, special attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, a meeting was held with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili. Issues of expanding investment partnership and implementing joint projects were discussed.
Negotiations were also held with Givi Miknadze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of exchange of experience in the field of education, development of scientific and academic exchanges, and implementation of joint projects.
Also, delegation visited the Alisher Navoi Park in Tbilisi, which is a symbol of friendship and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries.
The visit once again confirmed the high level of trust and enormous potential for further strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
