Negotiations on expanding partnership between Uzbekistan and Serbia in agriculture and water management were held in Belgrade

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov held talks with the State Secretary for International Cooperation and International Initiatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia Stana Bozovic, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for establishing and developing bilateral cooperation in agriculture, forestry and water management. Particular attention was paid to issues of joint work in the field of seed production, phytosanitary, veterinary medicine, irrigation and rational water use.

The Serbian side expressed interest in intensifying interaction with the relevant ministries of Uzbekistan and confirmed its readiness to develop the necessary legal and organizational mechanisms to launch joint initiatives.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue the dialogue at the level of the relevant departments of the two countries in order to prepare practical steps to develop bilateral partnership.
