The Singapore-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), one of the oldest business associations in Singapore, held a presentation of the investment potential of Uzbekistan, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
The event was attended by representatives of leading Singaporean companies operating in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, information technology and logistics.
The participants were provided with detailed information about the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the investment conditions created in the existing free economic and industrial zones, as well as the export potential of the republic.
At the event, the Chief Investment Officer of ‘‘Templeton Global’’ Manraj Sekhon spoke in detail about the activities of the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan, whose assets were transferred to the management of this company, as well as about favorable investment conditions and opportunities for business development in the country.
He also highly praised the economic changes in our country and called the Uzbek market the most attractive in Central Asia, calling on the participants of the presentation to do business in our country.
Singaporean businessmen present at the event expressed interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan and received answers to many questions.
Following the presentation, an agreement was reached to send a SICCI business mission to Uzbekistan in September this year and hold business forums in the regions of the republic.
