In the Pakistani Gudjranwala and Gujrat, promising directions of the Uzbek-Pakistani interregional economic cooperation were discussed

The diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan made a working trip to the Pakistani cities of Gujranwala and Gujrat, during which active meetings and negotiations were aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the two countries, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

On the first day of the trip, diplomats were attended by business events in Gudjranwala. The city is the third largest industrial center of Pakistan and provides 7% of the national GDP. The city, along with Sialkot and Gudzhrat, forms the economic zone of the “golden triangle” of the country, which has high export potential.

First, a visit to the Gudjranwala business center was held, functioning under the Ministry of Industry and Production of Pakistan on the basis of public-private partnership, where the head of the Center for Ahmed Ikram Lon was held. This center has more than 1,500 local and international partners and specializes in promoting Pakistani industrial products abroad, establishing international ties for entrepreneurs.

After the diplomats familiarized themselves with a permanent exhibition of various products, such as plumbing, household appliances, kitchen supplies, motors, pipes, porcelain, textiles, auto parts.

During a wide open dialogue with the participation of local manufacturers, the issues of establishing direct contacts between the entrepreneurs of the two countries, an increase in mutual trade, the conditions for the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan, as well as problematic issues arising in bilateral trade and economic relations were discussed.

Based on the results of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the organization of a visit to Uzbekistan of a business dime as part of representatives of the Center and the local industry in November of this year.

During the meeting with representatives of local industry and exporters, in which the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gudzranvaly Muhammad Siddiki Khan took part, a presentation of the capabilities of Uzbekistan in the industrial and investment spheres created for investors of favorable conditions, tax and customs benefits, as well as interactive discords.

An agreement was reached on the organization in September of the current year of the visit of representatives of the Gudjranwala CCI and business circles, including textile enterprises and other large manufacturers, to the regions of our country for detailed discussion of new projects with potential local partners.

The second day of the trip continued in the city of Gujrat. This city is known for its activity in the small and medium -sized business sector, as well as high potential in agricultural equipment, ventilation and refrigeration equipment, furniture, leather products, textiles and jewelry.

During the visit, meetings were held with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Gujrat, Muhammad Munir Peshavari, local production companies and representatives of the recently created Union of Business Women.

Detailed presentations about the conditions created for foreign investors in Uzbekistan, tax and customs benefits, free and special economic zones, logistics capabilities, as well as the strategic situation of our country in Central Asia aroused great interest of participants.

The Gujrat industrialists expressed interest in entering the Central Asian market for the sale of their products and stated that in the shortest possible time they would conduct a thorough study of the prospects for the organization of production in Uzbekistan and develop appropriate proposals.

Representatives of the Union of Business Women expressed a great interest in obtaining information about the possibilities, grants and state programs created for women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, and expressed their readiness to exchange experience.

Based on the results of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the organization in August of the current year of video conference between entrepreneurs with the support of the CCI of the two countries, organizing the visit of the Gujrat delegation to Uzbekistan in December, as well as sending samples of Pakistani products to our country in order to study the possibility of implementing joint projects.

This business trip served to familiarize the business circles of the cities of Gudjranwala and Gujrat with the conditions created for entrepreneurs in our country, and the conclusion in the future of business relations between the regions of the two countries to a new level.
