The Second Interregional Forum “Uzbekistan–Hungary” was held in Budapest

Budapest has become the center of business and regional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary – the Second Interregional Forum of the two countries took place in the Hungarian capital, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The forum was held as part of the official visit of an Uzbek delegation led by Ulugbek Khusainov, Director of the Agency for Governance Effectiveness under the President of Uzbekistan. The delegation included the first deputy khokims of the Bukhara, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions, as well as representatives of companies operating in these regions.

Representing the Hungarian side, the event was attended by Katalin Bihári, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Director General of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, as well as governors and delegations from seven Hungarian provinces – Zala, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar, Tolna, Pest, and Veszprem.

The forum’s main theme was establishing sister-city relations and developing business cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Hungary. The parties emphasized that such contacts open up new opportunities for exchanging experiences, developing trade and economic cooperation, and implementing joint projects in various fields.

The forum also brought together a number of Hungarian companies operating in key sectors, including information technology (Art Work Design Ltd.), fish farming (RIDEG & RIDEG FISH FARM Ltd.), agriculture and food processing (Agrometal Klaszter Ltd., Poliext Ltd., CapsiCare Research and Development Ltd., ALFASEED Ltd.), waste management (CELITRON Medical Technologies and Servicing Ltd.), and construction, energy, and water management (A-Híd Építő Zrt.).

The business program included a business forum and B2B negotiations, where representatives of companies from both countries discussed investment and export prospects. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in agriculture, water resources management, fish farming, energy, and construction.

The forum demonstrated the growing interest of Hungarian regions in their Uzbek partners and demonstrated that economic ties between the countries can develop not only at the government level but also through direct interaction between companies. The meeting resulted in a mutual desire to develop regional cooperation and explore new opportunities for joint projects, opening up prospects for a long-term partnership.
