A substantial package of agreements was adopted between Uzbekistan and Pakistan

Following the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif signed a Joint Declaration and Protocol on expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Furthermore, the following documents were exchanged in the presence of the leaders:

– Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026–2028;

– Agreement on the Establishment of the Uzbek-Pakistani Business Council;

– Agreement on the Establishment of the Uzbek-Pakistani Interregional Forum;

– Protocol on the Inclusion of a New List of Goods in the Preferential Trade Agreement;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Port Services and Discounts;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Mining and Geology;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Agriculture;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Agricultural Research and Development;

– Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Pharmaceutical Product Control;

– Agreement on Cooperation in the Textile and Clothing Industries;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Digital and Information Technologies;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Culture;

– Agreement on the Preservation, Study, and Widespread Promotion of the Scientific, Educational, Cultural, and Architectural Heritage of the Great Baburid Dynasty;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Sports;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Radiation and Nuclear Safety;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Ecology and Natural Disasters;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Emergency Management;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Corruption;

– Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic and New Psychoactive Substances, and Their Precursors;

– Agreement on the Transfer of Persons Deprived of Liberty to Continue Serving Their Sentences;

– Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Fresh Apples, Figs, Lemons, and Hot Peppers from Uzbekistan to Pakistan for Consumption

– A roadmap between the defense ministries of the two countries.

Agreements were also signed on the establishment of an Uzbek-Pakistani council of experts, and on cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Production of Pakistan, the Termez city administration and the Peshawar city administration, the Samarkand city administration and the Islamabad city administration, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamabad Institute for Strategic Studies, the Tashkent University of Oriental Studies, and the University of Peshawar.
