The President of Uzbekistan met with the US Secretary of Commerce

The working visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Washington began with a meeting with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Practical aspects of further strengthening the Uzbek-American strategic partnership and advancing cooperation projects in priority areas were discussed.

It was noted with satisfaction that the United States is one of Uzbekistan’s key partners: mutual trade volume has exceeded $1 billion, with approximately 340 American companies operating in the country’s market.

Major projects in energy, critical minerals, transportation, agriculture, IT, and other sectors are progressing successfully.

A three-year, $35 billion Economic Cooperation Program is in effect. A number of important agreements are expected to be signed today at business events.

The need to utilize the capabilities of the recently established Business Council and launch an Investment Platform for systemic support of priority projects was emphasized.

The importance of developing trade ties and expanding direct business contacts with the regions of Uzbekistan was also emphasized.
