The Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation

During the ADB Annual Meeting in Samarkand, the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation, the press service of the Ministry reports.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Shokhrukh Gulamov on behalf of Uzbekistan, while Chairman and CEO Yoon Hee-sung represented KEXIM.

The agreement establishes project financing frameworks for energy, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and green infrastructure.

To execute the agreement, the parties will form a joint working group. Chairman Yoon emphasized that the bank will provide robust financial support to Korean companies expanding their operations in the Uzbek market.

Key highlights of the Uzbekistan-Korea partnership were also noted, including the recent launch of high-speed trains developed through Korean technology with EDCF funding. Furthermore, the integration of KEXIM and KOTRA offices in Uzbekistan under the “K-Finance” strategy was highlighted, enabling Korean businesses to access comprehensive financial and marketing support through a single-window system.
