An Uzbek delegation attended the 20th Annual Meeting of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB)

An Uzbek delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Khurram Teshabaev, attended the 20th Annual Meeting of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) on June 25–26 in Almaty, the press service of the MIIT reports. This marked Uzbekistan’s first participation in the bank’s events as a full shareholder.

At the EDB Management Board meeting, chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and attended by member states’ finance and economy ministers, the bank approved its annual report and the 2027–2031 Development Strategy. This key document incorporates priorities raised by Uzbekistan, including water and energy security, expanded transport corridors, and industrial cooperation, which fully align with the “Uzbekistan-2030” national strategy.

On the summit sidelines, the Uzbek delegation head held talks with Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Management Board. They discussed a portfolio of 36 joint projects worth $2.8 billion, targeting the chemical, textile, light, and processing industries, alongside digital infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism.

Additionally, Tashkent and the EDB discussed hosting the bank’s next annual meeting in Uzbekistan’s capital in 2027 and nominating an Uzbek representative to chair the EDB Management Board.
