The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan

On 20 August, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Saad Abu Haimed, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan, the press service of the MIIT reports.

The parties discussed further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation. In 2025, bilateral trade reached USD 178 million (+24%), while utilized Saudi investments amounted to USD 2.8 billion (+105%). Uzbekistan is currently home to 433 enterprises with Saudi capital participation.

Particular attention was paid to increasing and diversifying bilateral trade, organizing mutual business missions and exhibitions, as well as advancing joint projects in energy, digital technologies, transport, finance, healthcare and education.

Following the meeting, it was proposed to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Riyadh in Q4 2026. The parties also discussed the organization of the Uzbekistan Pavilion at EXPO 2030 in Saudi Arabia.
