Fiscal management and public financial management discussed with representatives of the International Monetary Fund

On August 24, a meeting was held between Amanda Sayeg, Senior Economist in the Public Financial Management Division of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, the Information Service and Communications Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, as well as priority areas of ongoing reforms in fiscal management and public financial management.

Particular attention was paid to the key objectives set in the area of fiscal development, measures being implemented in this area, and further improvement of the public financial management system.

The parties also exchanged views on ongoing efforts to identify, assess and monitor fiscal risks, take into account their potential impact on the sustainability of public finances, and improve fiscal risk management mechanisms.

The discussions also covered ways to improve the procedures for forming budget revenues and expenditures, as well as their planning and forecasting processes. The parties focused on the effective management of budgetary resources and ensuring consistency in financial planning.

At the conclusion of the talks, the parties expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation and expand the exchange of views on the above-mentioned issues.
