Italy’s Apulia region expresses interest in Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities
At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, in cooperation with the administration of the Apulia Region and the Union of Chambers of Commerce of the region, a presentation of Uzbekistan titled “Uzbekistan in the Spotlight” was held in Bari, the correspondent of the Dunyo news agency reports.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the event was organized to introduce Uzbekistan to representatives of the Apulian business community and provide information on the reforms being implemented in the country, as well as the conditions created for business and investment.
Representatives of around 100 companies took part in the forum. At the opening of the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev spoke about the development of Uzbek-Italian relations, opportunities available to foreign investors, and promising areas of cooperation.
President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of the region, “Unioncamere”, Vincenzo Cesaro, and Apulia Regional Minister for Economic Development Eugenio Di Sciascio highlighted the distinctive features and significant potential of the Uzbek market. They emphasized Uzbekistan’s potential as a strategic partner connecting Apulia and Italy with Central Asia and providing access to markets across the wider region.
During the meetings, the Italian side highly appreciated the conditions created in Uzbekistan for doing business. Following the talks, an agreement was reached to organize a business mission of Apulian entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan in November this year.
As part of the mission, visits are planned to enterprises and farms in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Kashkadarya regions specializing in the production of planting material, horticulture, and the processing of agricultural products.
