Meeting with representatives of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On June 30 this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction with representatives of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to discuss the project “Implementation of infrastructure projects throughout the country, including the development of external engineering and communication infrastructure for special economic, small and youth industrial zones” under the leadership of Director General of the Infrastructure Projects Implementation Department of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Ms. Supi Teravaninthorn.

This project is included in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 30, 2021, “On approval of the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 and the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects”. The resolution states that this project will be financed by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in the amount of 200.0 million US dollars. 

The meeting was attended by Senior Specialist in Investment Operations Ms. Mehek Marvakha and Specialist in Private Sector Operations Igor Popkov, Head of the Department for Formation and Analysis of Projects from Extrabudgetary Sources Akmalbek Allabergenov and Deputy Head of the Department for Formation and Analysis of Projects from Extrabudgetary Sources Bakhodir Turaev.

At the meeting, the concept of the project, the mechanisms for the implementation of the project and the issues of launching the project on time were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation and expand cooperation on the above issues.
