Uzbekistan and Poland discuss the prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation

On November 7, in the upper house of the Oliy Majlis, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism, Ravshan Alimov, with a delegation of deputies of the Polish Seimas, headed by the chairman of the Poland-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary group, Pavel Beida, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports

According to the Senate, during the meeting, the state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, including through inter-parliamentary contacts, were discussed.

It was noted that Poland is an important partner of Uzbekistan, with which our country has close friendly ties.

Mutual interest was expressed in intensifying interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries in areas of mutual interest.

The Polish parliamentarians fully support the positive trends and new agreements in the development of cooperation between the EU-Uzbekistan and the EU-Central Asia.

The parties dwelled in detail on the prospects for building up trade and economic ties, exchanged views on the prospects for the implementation of investment projects with the participation of Polish companies in the regions of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation in the field of labor migration.
