Saudi Arabia invests in the energy sector of Uzbekistan

ACWA Power from Saudi Arabia is building 5 modern power plants with a total capacity of 4,100 MW in Uzbekistan, including 4 wind farms with a total capacity of 2,600 MW and 1 thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MW.

Power facilities will be located:

  • 1 thermal power plant with a capacity of 1500 MW in the city of Shirin, Bayaut district, Syrdarya region;
  • 2 power plants of 500 MW each in the Peshkun and Gijduvan districts of the Bukhara region;
  • 2 wind power plants with a total capacity of 1600 MW in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

For information: 4100 MW is 23% of the current volume of electricity production in Uzbekistan.
