Employees of the embassy of our country took part in the international week IMEX 2023, organized in Madrid, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
During the week, about 70 conferences and round tables were held with the participation of representatives of almost 50 countries aimed at promoting agriculture and the food industry. During the forum, special attention was paid to the Central Asian region, which for the first time was considered as a new and promising market.
In particular, one of the sectoral meetings of the conference “Main markets for Spanish companies”, held at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was devoted to the Central Asian region. Representatives of Spanish companies operating in the region took part in its work as speakers. Regional managers of Talgo, Airbus, Maxam noted that their business projects in the countries of Central Asia were successful, and due to the high purchasing power of the market, the countries of the region are considered very profitable for Spanish companies. At the same time, the speakers noted that the economy of Uzbekistan is developing dynamically and, thanks to large-scale reforms carried out by the leadership of the republic, occupies a leading position in the region. It was reported that Uzbekistan, as a country with significant potential in the fields of agriculture, food, textiles, production of building materials, has great prospects and opportunities for Spanish companies.
Spanish experts and heads of diplomatic missions of the countries of the region took part in the round table discussion held at the Sibelis Palace on the topic “Central Asia: a new region unfamiliar to Spanish companies”. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Jahongir Ganiev made a presentation on the investment and export potential of our country. It was reported that Spanish companies have ample opportunities for the implementation of joint investment projects and mutual trade with Uzbekistan, and our country has been recognized as a GSP+ beneficiary country, which allows duty-free importation of over 6,300 items of goods to the EU market.
The President of ESKZ Global Consulting, which specializes in providing consulting services for establishing business with the countries of Central Asia, Adolfo Romero highly appreciated the conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan. He said that in connection with the significant role of agriculture in the economy of Spain and Uzbekistan, a number of proposals are being developed. Including on the development of agribusiness, processing industry, food, construction and smart cities, mining and energy, fashion and textiles, renewable energy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, chemistry, waste recycling and noted that there are great opportunities in such areas like environmental protection and tourism.
Within the framework of the international week, a special stand dedicated to Uzbekistan was organized.
