As part of a practical visit of a delegation led by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People’s Republic of China today, February 20, a Cooperation Agreement was signed with a consortium of Huaneng Renewables Corporation and Poly Technologies for the construction of solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 2000 MW in Jizzakh and Tashkent regions, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.
Under this agreement, a consortium of these companies will make direct investments in our country in the amount of $2 billion.
The first capacities of these solar photovoltaic stations are planned to be launched by the end of this year, and in 2024 at full capacity.
As a result, 5 billion kWh of electricity will be generated per year, as a result of which 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be saved.
We remind you that on February 15 this year, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Chinese company CEEC ENERGY CHINA on the construction of solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 2000 MW in Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
