About WCCE

.

Established in 2018 in Indonesia, the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is a leading global platform where creatives, entrepreneurs, and policy-makers convene to foster dialogue, address challenges, and unveil opportunities. Collectively, they contribute to defining and shaping the future of the global creative economy.

The conference aims to foster international cooperation, highlight the role of creativity in driving an inclusive, sustainable economy, and shift focus from resource-reliant to knowledge-based economies.

WCCE is a biennial event spanning three days, with each alternate conference hosted in a different country. Now it will be in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in October 2nd – 4th, 2024

Theme

INCLUSIVELY CREATIVE: A SHIFTED REALITY

The theme of WCCE 2024 will explore the social and economic challenges posed by rapidly advancing technologies, with a particular focus on the rise of artificial intelligence, intellectual property rights, and creative ethics.

AI threatens to replace 85 million jobs by 2025, affecting many creative professions. The labour market is already undergoing transformation. However, some sectors of the creative economy, such as production and traditional crafts, are witnessing growth.

Joint efforts by countries and communities can ease the transition, reduce inequality, foster new market opportunities, and help protect environment. By 2030, the creative economy is projected to represent 10% of global GDP.

Agenda

The journey does not begin or end solely with the conference itself.

You are invited to participate in the pre-conference events leading up to the main event in 2024 as well as the development of a legacy program that will run until the next edition back in Indonesia. These events will serve as platforms of collaboration, fostering dialogue and exchange of ideas to shape the future of creative industries.
