Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan participated in the meeting of the SCO Business Council in Beijing

On July 16 of this year, the next meeting of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states was held in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, the press service of the SCC reports. A delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Dilshod Rasulov participated in it.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further deepening regional economic cooperation, expanding mutual trade and investment relations, as well as developing digital infrastructure.

In his speech, Dilshod Rasulov announced that the Chamber had put forward the following initiatives to bring economic cooperation within the SCO to a new level:

  • Developing the SCO International Innovation Clusters Program — which aims to jointly develop high-tech, science-based production.
  • Creating the ‘‘SCO TradeNet’’ digital platform — will allow digitizing the trade and logistics sector and automating data exchange between countries.
  • ‘‘SCO Business School for SMEs’’ – the creation of an educational network for small and medium-sized businesses – is intended to increase the potential of entrepreneurs, exchange knowledge and skills.
  • The development of the concept of ‘‘SCO Smart Border Zones’’ – involves the creation of economic zones in border regions based on an innovative approach.

As part of the visit, the delegation members also held bilateral meetings with business circles of the SCO countries and provided information about the investment climate and promising projects in Uzbekistan.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan once again confirms its readiness to consistently develop cooperation within the SCO and is working on specific projects to implement the above initiatives.
