The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev took part in the 17th BRICS summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 6-7, 2025, the press service of the Senate reports.
Delegations from 38 states and international organizations participated in this prestigious forum.
The summit discussed issues such as deepening trade and economic cooperation, combating climate change and its financing, strengthening cooperation in ensuring peace and security, developing artificial intelligence and integrating the healthcare system.
In turn, the delegation of Uzbekistan informed the summit participants about the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country – modernization of the economy, improvement of the education and healthcare systems, poverty reduction, digital transformation and development of a ‘‘green’’ economy.
Following the summit, a declaration was adopted according to which Uzbekistan became a partner of the BRICS organization.
