On September 14, a meeting was held with the management of Huawei International PTE., Ltd and ZTE Corporation, dedicated to the Samarkand summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where the Minister of Information Technology and Communications Development Sherzod Shermatov took part.
Within the framework of the meeting of the leaders of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), specific plans for scientific and technical cooperation in many priority areas have been determined, negotiations are underway to implement them. Such agreements should, above all, serve to improve the well-being of people and improve their standard of living.
In recent years, digital technologies have covered all aspects of society. The telecommunications sector is rapidly developing in our country, which is considered an important development factor. Particular attention is paid to providing the population with high-speed Internet and high-quality communication services.
As part of the visit, Uzbektelecom JSC is carrying out a number of works to modernize the existing infrastructure in our country and further expand relations with partners.
In particular, in order to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies for the well-being of the peoples of China and Uzbekistan, for the further development of the telecommunications infrastructure in our Republic, an agreement was reached on the implementation of more than 4 investment projects with the companies Huawei International PTE., Ltd and “ZTE Corporation” with a total value of 506.8 million US dollars.
Huawei International PTE., Ltd and ZTE Corporation signed a total of 8 contracts with Uzbektelecom JSC.
As part of the implementation of these projects, telecommunications networks and digitalization infrastructure in the western and eastern regions of our republic will be developed in two stages.
As a result of the implementation of projects:
Opportunities and coverage of the population to use communication services will continue to expand and the quality of services provided will improve;
Full coverage of high-speed mobile Internet on highways of international importance, full coverage of high-speed mobile Internet on railways across the republic will be provided.
Base stations of the fifth generation of the 5G standard will also be installed in the city of Tashkent and the centers of all regions, and the capacity of data transmission networks and backbone transport networks will be expanded.
It is worth noting that these projects will serve to further improve the information and communication sector in our country, and at the same time will serve as a foundation for attracting the necessary investments and establishing cooperation in New Uzbekistan.
