Spanish companies are interested in localizing production in Uzbekistan

During his visit to the city of Villarreal in the autonomous community of Valencia, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Farrukh Tursunov held talks with the heads of several leading Spanish companies specializing in the production of ceramic products, construction and finishing materials, as well as plumbing equipment, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

In particular, a meeting was held with the General Director of Porcelanosa Grupo, Silvestre Segarra Soriano. During the talks, the investment climate and industrial potential of Uzbekistan were presented in detail, including current government support measures for foreign investors.

Porcelanosa Grupo is one of the world leaders in the production of ceramic tiles, plumbing, kitchens and construction solutions. The company was founded in 1973 and currently exports products to more than 100 countries. Porcelanosa Grupo is known for its innovative approach, high quality products and focus on the premium segment. In Uzbekistan, the company has been represented for over 20 years through its official partner Premium Concept, and since 2021, a branded showroom has been operating in Tashkent.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the prospects for creating a regional industrial hub for Central Asia in our country, focused on both the domestic market and exports.

The company’s management highly appreciated the investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan and expressed interest in further exploring opportunities for localizing production. It was noted that, given the geographical location, favorable logistics and sustainable economic growth, Uzbekistan is considered a promising direction for expanding the group’s production capacity.

As a continuation of the negotiations, a meeting was held with XSTONE’s regional manager for Eastern Europe, Roman Pysko. The company specializes in the production of innovative finishing materials made of artificial stone and porcelain stoneware. Various possible formats of cooperation were discussed, including the creation of joint production, as well as partial localization using Spanish technologies. The parties expressed their intention to organize a familiarization visit to Uzbekistan to assess infrastructure and logistics capabilities, as well as to establish contacts with potential partners. The prospects for the transfer of production lines and equipment within the framework of industrial cooperation were touched upon.

During the meeting with the management of Noken, a company specializing in the production of high-quality plumbing products, the prospects for a joint analysis of the Uzbek plumbing market for the purpose of subsequent localization of products were discussed. The growing demand for high-quality construction and engineering solutions in the housing and hotel sectors of Uzbekistan was noted, which opens up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Following the meetings, the heads of Spanish companies expressed a high interest in expanding their presence in Central Asia, in particular in the promising and dynamically developing market of Uzbekistan. Readiness to move to the practical stage of interaction was confirmed, including visits to the country, business meetings, as well as the development of specific formats for localization of production and joint investment projects.
