At a meeting with representatives of the media, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh shared their assessments of the negotiations that took place, the press service of the head of our state reports.
At the beginning of his speech, the head of our state sincerely congratulated the friendly Mongolian people on the upcoming national holiday – People’s Revolution Day.
– We sincerely rejoice at the impressive successes and achievements of our Mongolian friends in carrying out socio-economic reforms, we fully support your peace-loving foreign policy, – the leader of our country noted.
It was emphasized that today Mongolia shows consistently high rates of economic growth. The country is modernizing its industries, agricultural sector, and infrastructure. Large-scale reconstruction of the city of Kharkhorin has begun. Thanks to a consistent, pragmatic and proactive policy, the country’s international authority is increasing.
It was especially noted that the first visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Mongolia became a historic event in the development of friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that one of the key results of the visit was the signing of an important document – the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership, which launches a new stage in Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation.
It was stated that during the negotiations, all the main issues and promising areas of practical cooperation were thoroughly considered, specific tasks and plans for the future were identified.
It was stated that after last year’s summit in Tashkent, contacts in all areas have intensified. In February of this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was fruitfully held.
It was agreed to continue close work and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral structures.
According to the President of Uzbekistan, the main attention during the negotiations was paid to economic cooperation. Tasks have been set to increase trade turnover multiple times in the coming years, primarily by expanding the range and volumes of supplies of in-demand products. It was emphasized that the opening of a trading house with a showroom of Uzbek products in Ulaanbaatar will become the physical base for this work.
It was noted with satisfaction that on the eve of the visit, a business forum and meetings of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Mongolia were successfully held, new contracts and agreements were signed. The heads of state agreed to continue to create all conditions for business and support their business initiatives in every possible way.
In this context, agreements were reached on the adoption of agreements on preferential trade and mutual protection of investments in the shortest possible time.
In addition, during the negotiations, specific areas of industrial cooperation were identified in industries where the economies of the two countries can effectively complement each other.
This concerns the implementation of projects in the field of extraction and processing of mineral resources, agriculture, animal husbandry, cooperation in the light industry, including deep processing of wool, leather and many other areas.
As landlocked countries, it was agreed to jointly develop effective transport routes, with the broad involvement of experts. It was noted that direct flights between the capitals will be launched this fall.
An agreement was reached to continue active exchanges in the fields of culture, education and tourism. These days, Ulaanbaatar is hosting the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan, meetings of tourism organizations of the two countries.
The parties agreed to hold mutual concerts, exhibitions, film screenings on a regular basis, and participate in festivals.
The head of our state also expressed readiness to resume the education of Mongolian youth in leading universities of Uzbekistan within the allocated quotas.
It was emphasized that for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached and signed agreements, the governments of the two countries will adopt a comprehensive “road map”.
In conclusion, the leader of our country announced an invitation to the President of Mongolia to visit Uzbekistan on an official visit.
