Leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan discussed the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level

On July 4, on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization summit in the city of Khankendi, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, the press service of the head of our state reports.

They discussed current issues of further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership relations based on the adopted “road map”.

Active contacts at various levels were noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures and direct flights are increasing. Trading houses have been created in Karachi and Lahore.

Particular attention was paid to accelerating cooperation projects and programs in the trade, economic, investment and transport and communications spheres, including promoting the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway.

The importance of productively holding the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum planned for this year was emphasized.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
