Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev met with Deputy Director General of the Malaysian company ‘‘Fortress Minerals’’ Ng Mun Fay, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the development of promising deposits in Uzbekistan and the establishment of cooperation in the field of geological exploration. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of mineral reserves.
The Malaysian side was provided with information on promising deposits of chromium, nickel, magnesium and cobalt, titanium and dolomite in our country and was invited to consider the possibility of implementing projects for their extraction.
The head of the Malaysian company expressed interest in the project proposals, noting his readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future for a more detailed discussion.
The ‘‘Fortress Minerals’’ company was founded in 2017 in Singapore. The company’s headquarters are located in Kuala Lumpur. The company is engaged in the exploration, mining, production and sale of iron, copper, gold and nickel ore concentrates in the Malaysian states of Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah. The company also owns deposits overseas – in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
