The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Board of the Export-Import Bank of China

On June 21, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Board of the Export-Import Bank of China, the press service of the Ministry reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of ongoing agreements and prospects for future cooperation in new areas, including projects in hydropower infrastructure, initiatives to promote sustainable development in agriculture, and the modernization of the transportation network.

Since 2002, a total of 51 joint projects worth $3.2 billion have been implemented with the support of China Eximbank. These projects span various sectors, including modern infrastructure development, green energy, transport, agriculture and water management, education, healthcare, and more. Currently, 2 projects worth $1.9 billion are underway, and 13 additional projects worth $2.2 billion are under consideration.

Following the meeting, a loan agreement worth $500 million was signed in the telecommunications sector. Emphasizing the importance of expediting the practical implementation of the project, Minister Laziz Kudratov expressed confidence that Eximbank’s support for IT sector initiatives would yield positive outcomes.
