Promising agreements in the spheres of industry and trade were reached at the business forum “Syrdarya Region – Pakistan”

A delegation of Pakistani entrepreneurs, accompanied by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev, visited the Syrdarya region to hold a business forum and meetings in the G2B and B2B format with district and city khokimiyats of the region, as well as local entrepreneurs, the correspondent of ‘Dunyo’ news agency reports.

Within the framework of the business forum, which was held with the participation of entrepreneurs of the Syrdarya, Sardoba, Saykhunabad, Yangiyer districts and the city of Gulistan, promising agreements were reached with Pakistani partners in the fields of pharmaceuticals, textiles, transport and logistics, production of building materials, leather and wool processing, tourism, new export contracts were concluded for the supply of polyethylene products, plastic bags, and ‘wet blue’ leather products.

A contract was signed between the leading Pakistani company ‘Getz Pharma’ and the domestic ‘Omanmed Pharm’ for the import of substances necessary for the production of infusion solutions.

An agreement was also reached to organize advanced training courses for 20 specialists from Uzbekistan, including from Syrdarya, at the ‘Getz Pharma’ plant in Karachi in April this year.

The delegation visited textile enterprises in the region with underutilized capacities in the Gulistan, Saykhunabad and Sardoba districts, where plans and tasks were outlined for the introduction of advanced methods in the production process and increasing export potential by attracting leading Pakistani textile companies as external managers.

During the round table with entrepreneurs of the Sardoba district, the terms of the project for processing small cattle skins were discussed in detail, the initial stage of negotiations was held and new contracts for the export of industrial and agricultural products to Pakistan were concluded.

This concluded the three-day business visit of Pakistani businessmen to the Surkhandarya, Bukhara and Syrdarya regions, and the guests departed for their homeland.
