Investment cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of ecology was discussed

On January 26 this year, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade held talks with the Deputy Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Korea, Yoo Jae-chul, to discuss the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the environmental field, the press service of MIIT reports.

In particular, the progress of the implementation of the projects “Construction of sanitary landfills and transfer stations in the Jizzakh region” and “Organization of electricity production by converting landfill gas generated at the landfills” Akhangaran “and” Maidontol “was considered. The parties expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to the successful and timely commissioning of projects.

Successful interaction was noted in the framework of the implementation of projects aimed at improving environmental well-being in the Aral Sea region together with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

For reference: The projects provide for the restoration of the agrarian economy of Karakalpakstan through the development of climate-resilient agribusiness, reducing the risk of natural disasters and improving food security.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue the bilateral dialogue aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change and ensuring the efficient use of energy, water and land resources through the transition to renewable energy sources.
