Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan met with the Director of the Department of Bilateral Economic Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia Martini bint Muhammad Safai, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
The Ministry deals with the issues of agriculture, agro-industry, agritourism, veterinary services, fisheries, animal husbandry, development research and food security.
At the meeting, the Malaysian side was provided with detailed information on the reform of agriculture in Uzbekistan, in particular, the improvement of the public administration system, the widespread introduction of market relations, the strengthening of the legal framework for relations between production entities, the processing and sale of agricultural products, as well as investments in this industry.
The Malaysian side highly appreciated the agricultural development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030, based on the diversification of agricultural production in our country, creating a favorable environment for agribusiness and the production of high value-added products.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture in our country, in particular, the attraction of foreign experience in the field of floriculture, as well as the supply of agricultural products produced in Uzbekistan, including poultry meat and eggs, mineral fertilizers for agricultural needs. Malaysia.
As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on organizing an online meeting between representatives of the Malaysian National Farmers Association and Uzkimyoimpeks JSC on the supply of mineral fertilizers, as well as the presentation of commercial proposals to the Malaysian side to conclude specific export agreements with major traders and importers in Malaysia.
