Powerchina began building a 400 MW photovoltaic power plant in Andijan

In Andijan, the construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant was launched on September 13, Spot reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

The construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 400 megawatts on the territory of the New Andijan district is being carried out by the Chinese Powerchina International Group. Its representatives attended the launch ceremony together with the regional khokim Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov.

The launch of the first stage with a capacity of 100 MW is scheduled for April 1, 2024. The FES is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of next November.

After reaching its design capacity, the solar farm will be able to generate up to 700 million kWh of electricity per year. At the same time, compared to thermal power plants of similar capacity, 212 million cubic meters of gas will be saved, and atmospheric emissions will be reduced by 294 million tons.

The Ministry of Energy and Powerchina International entered into a preliminary memorandum on the project of the future thermal power plant in May. On July 31, a tripartite agreement was signed with the participation of the khokimiyat of the Andijan region on the construction of a power plant.
