Information on major railway projects was provided

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the current state and future plans for the implementation of major regional railway infrastructure projects, the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

It is very important for our country to diversify transport routes for quick and unhindered access to world markets. The head of our state constantly raises this issue at international events and initiates practical solutions. Thanks to the agreements reached with foreign partners, work on projects is accelerating.

One of them is the construction of the 454-kilometer Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway. As you know, on September 14 of this year, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding on this project was signed in Samarkand. In November, field research was carried out by the First Design and Research Institute of China.

During the report, the responsible persons spoke about the planned work. In particular, a project office will be created in Bishkek. Forms and order of project management are discussed. Negotiations will be held with international financial organizations. In general, by June 1, it is planned to prepare a feasibility study for the project.

Another regional project is the Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway. It also shows significant progress, despite the difficult situation in Afghanistan.

In particular, this summer a research expedition was organized from the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan to the city of Torkham in Pakistan.

It was noted that within the framework of the project it is planned to build 765 kilometers of railways. Next year it is planned to create a project office, attract an international consulting company, and hold negotiations with investors. Based on the results, a feasibility study of the project will be prepared.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved these plans and instructed to develop road maps in cooperation with partner countries.

The construction of these railway lines will diversify transport communications and significantly increase the logistics capabilities of Uzbekistan.
