On June 16, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction and development projects of public transport planned in Tashkent, the press service of the head of our state reports.
Thanks to the steady growth of investment attractiveness in recent years, the pace of urban development in the capital has noticeably accelerated. The construction of multi-storey residential buildings, hotels, business centers, cultural and sports complexes expands the infrastructural and economic potential of the city. At the same time, the construction of New Tashkent has begun – together with the existing city, it forms a modern metropolis.
When implementing such large-scale and long-term projects, quality and reliability are especially important. On May 13, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President, dedicated to these very issues. The head of state emphasized the priority of quality and safety in construction, instructing to develop a scientific approach and introduce modern standards in the industry.
At today’s presentation, information was presented on the work performed in this direction. According to the instruction, the issues of compliance of new multi-storey buildings with safety requirements were re-analyzed. Scientific and technical opinions have been received from about ten organizations, including “UzGASHKLITI”, the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences, the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations, sanitary and epidemiological services and others. In accordance with the updated requirements, the seismic resistance of new buildings must be at least 9 points. A comprehensive expert opinion will be formed for each project.
With the growth in the number of high-rise buildings and new complexes, there is a need for a stable power supply. In this regard, a new substation with a capacity of 160 megawatts is planned to be built in the Chilanzar district. This will provide energy for future projects in this area without overloading the existing networks.
It is also planned to build a water reservoir with a capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters in this district. This will ensure uninterrupted water supply in the Chilanzar, Shaykhantakhur and Uchtepa districts. About 8 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity will be saved daily.
Tashkent is increasingly becoming a venue for large business events, forums and exhibitions. One of such facilities is the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (САЕх) complex. Given the holding of international conferences, it is planned to build meeting rooms here.
One of the most important factors in the city’s attractiveness is convenient public transport. The network of bus routes and metro lines is consistently expanding in the capital.
As previously reported, it is planned to extend the metro system to the territory of the Tashkent Tractor Plant. The project will be implemented in two stages. At the first stage, the Chilanzar direction will be extended from the Pushkin station to the Tashkent Ring Road – on the surface. At the second stage, it is planned to build an underground line from the ring road to the main bus station on the territory of the TTZ massif.
In addition, in order to relieve traffic flows, it is planned to conduct this railway line under the Tashkent Ring Road. The construction of the underground section will be organized without stopping street traffic. It is expected that the new metro line will cover up to 85 thousand passengers per day.
Another promising project is the metro line to the city of New Tashkent. It will start from the “Dustlik” metro station and reach the new administrative center. The route will be 21 kilometers long and will include 9 stations. It is expected that this line will be able to serve up to 230 thousand passengers per day.
The technical and economic parameters of the presented projects were considered at the presentation. The head of state gave instructions on improving the quality of construction, construction culture and ensuring maximum convenience for the population.
