On the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The parties discussed current issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted relations.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state emphasized the timeliness and relevance of organizing an extraordinary summit in Riyadh.
The ongoing intensive contacts and exchanges at various levels were noted with deep satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade and investment, the number of joint ventures are growing.
The issues of promoting new joint projects, in particular in the areas of ‘‘green’’ energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, communications, the agricultural sector, and industry were considered.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation of upcoming high-level events, including the second summit of the ‘‘Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council’’ dialogue in Samarkand in 2025.
During the meeting, the leader of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for our citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah.
An exchange of views on regional issues, including a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East, also took place.
