The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Oman

On February 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, the press service of the head of our state reports.

At the beginning of the conversation, the minister conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from the Sultan of Oman Heytham bin Tariq Al Said to the head of our state.

The issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries were discussed, primarily the disclosure of the potential of partnership in the trade, economic, investment and financial spheres.

The intensification of interdepartmental and business contacts was noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade turnover, the number of joint ventures are growing, business events with the participation of leading companies of the two countries are regularly held.

Particular attention is paid to increasing the portfolio of the existing joint Investment Company through new cooperation projects.

The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a joint business forum will be held in April of this year.

In addition, the importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and establishing direct air links was emphasized.

An exchange of views on the regional agenda also took place, including preparations for the second summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Dialogue, which will be held in May this year in Samarkand.
