The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of realizing the potential of economic partnership with Malaysia

On June 23, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Minister for Energy Transition and Water Resources Transformation Fadillah bin Yusuf, the press service of the head of our state reports.

A representative delegation of Malaysia is in our country on an official visit to conduct bilateral talks and participate in the events of the United Nations Public Service Forum, which are taking place in the city of Samarkand.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah bin Yusuf conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the head of our state from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Malaysian multifaceted relations in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements of the high-level visit to Kuala Lumpur in February this year were discussed.

The intensification of contacts, visits and exchanges at various levels was noted with great satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 25 percent. The number of joint ventures and the frequency of flights have increased. A business forum with the participation of leading companies of the two countries will be held tomorrow.

The importance of unlocking the existing potential for economic cooperation and actively promoting cooperation projects in the fields of trade, innovation, green energy, oil and gas and chemical industries, geology, water management, electronics and the semiconductor industry, healthcare, personnel training, development of pilgrimage tourism and other priority areas was emphasized.
