On June 10, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who is visiting our country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the press service of the head of our state reports.
At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and good wishes of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The current issues of further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.
The fruitful work carried out jointly within the framework of the Year of Economic Cooperation was noted with satisfaction. The volume of trade turnover is growing, cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy, including with the support of the joint Investment Company, are in the active phase. Active cultural and humanitarian exchange continues.
The importance of continuing close practical cooperation between governments in order to monitor the implementation of agreements and generate new initiatives for the upcoming summit was emphasized.
In this context, the need to ensure high efficiency of the planned next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions of the two countries was noted.
