The President of Uzbekistan reviewed the progress of implementation of priority investment projects with Saudi Arabia

On June 4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the co-chairman of the Uzbek-Saudi Business Council, chairman of the board of the ‘‘ACWA Power’’ company Muhammad Abunayan, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Issues of further expanding practical cooperation with Saudi Arabian companies were discussed, including the progress of implementation of joint investment projects.

The head of our state noted with satisfaction the fruitful partnership with ‘‘ACWA Power’’. The company’s leading role in modernizing the country’s energy sector based on “green” technologies was emphasized.

Today, the portfolio of current and promising projects exceeds 17 billion.

The importance of continuing active work to attract Saudi companies to our country within the framework of the activities of the Business Council was noted.

Special attention was paid to the issues of accelerating the implementation of joint projects in the field of airport infrastructure development, development and digitalization of the energy industry, modernization of heat supply networks, waste recycling, production of pharmaceutical and textile products, opening of medical clinics, creation of tourist centers, promotion of agricultural projects and other areas.
