The head of the Chinese Parliament conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan the sincere greetings and best wishes of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
During the meeting, the highest level of Uzbek-Chinese friendship and all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership achieved in recent years was noted with deep satisfaction.
The agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China in January of this year are being consistently implemented.
Confidence was expressed that the results of the fruitful high-level negotiations held within the framework of the SCO summit in Astana will give new impetus to the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between our countries.
China reaffirmed its strong support for the socio-economic reform program in Uzbekistan, especially in matters of poverty reduction, as well as plans to adopt strategic cooperation programs in the field of infrastructure development, industrial cooperation, agriculture and green energy.
The importance of the early start of practical work on the construction of the ‘‘China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan’’ railway was emphasized.
Intensive interregional contacts were highly appreciated. Next year the second Forum of Regions will take place.
Issues of opening branches of Chinese universities, expanding cooperation in the field of vocational education, and supporting the activities of the Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan were considered. The second Educational Forum is scheduled to be held next year.
An exchange of views took place on issues of cultural and tourist exchange.
The need to further expand inter-parliamentary interaction, intensify exchanges between parliamentarians and study the experience of legislative activity to support ongoing reforms was especially emphasized.
It was noted that it is planned to adopt a “road map” for the implementation of measures aimed at deepening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
