On April 7, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the delegation of Vietnam led by the Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Manh, who arrived in our country on an official visit, the press service of the head of our state reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the Vietnamese delegation conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan sincere greetings from the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the country To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh.
The issues of further development of Uzbek-Vietnamese multifaceted relations, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres, were thoroughly considered.
The need to impart a systemic character to intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts was noted. The importance of productively holding a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum in Hanoi this year was emphasized.
To promote new projects, an agreement was reached to prepare a comprehensive industrial cooperation program in such areas as energy, geology, petrochemistry, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture and other industries.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural and tourist exchanges, including through the establishment of a visa-free regime.
It was agreed to intensify inter-parliamentary dialogue to ensure the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
