New projects for Andijan region were presented to the President

The head of state was informed about the results of reforms and new plans for the development of the Andijan region, the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

According to the Decree of the President of November 18, 2024, a set of measures for socio-economic development, improving the investment climate and supporting entrepreneurship in the Andijan region was defined. This year, it is planned to attract $3.1 billion in investments, export products worth $1.5 billion, provide employment for 305 thousand people and lift over 32 thousand families out of poverty.

Since the beginning of the year, new production capacities worth $1 billion have been launched in the region, 344 trade and service complexes have been opened. The implementation of projects worth $2.5 billion has also begun. Over the past six months, $850 million in investments have been attracted, and the export volume amounted to $465 million.

The President’s April trip to the Andijan region and the tasks he set became an additional incentive for the development of the region. Recently, with the participation of scientific experts and active entrepreneurs, a reform headquarters was created, which developed new proposals for the development of the economy and social sphere.

At the presentation, the responsible persons presented the rationale and expected effectiveness of these initiatives.

For example, it is planned to create an innovative clinic using robotic technologies from Germany, Turkey and Japan. The volume of investments is 40 million dollars. Also, with the support of diplomatic missions abroad, negotiations are underway to attract 20 million euros from Italy to create an agrocluster and 25 million euros from Germany to build a modern agrologistics complex. In the city of Khanabad, Khodjaabad and Bulakbashi districts, more than 30 initiatives for the development of tourist zones have been formed.

In general, a portfolio of additional projects worth 1 billion 100 million dollars has been formed. Their implementation will create 22 thousand new jobs and additionally increase exports by 200 million dollars per year.

The President especially emphasized the need for an individual approach to each city and district of the region, as well as the importance of placing new projects in areas with the least investment inflow. It was ordered to organize training and employment for the unemployed and needy families, as well as to take measures to transform mahallas into crime-free areas.
