The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed current issues of practical cooperation

On March 18, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The heads of the two states sincerely congratulated each other on the upcoming spring holiday of Navruz, wished the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan peace, well-being and prosperity.

The parties discussed in detail current issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance.

The importance of taking coordinated measures to increase trade, promote projects in the field of industrial cooperation, transport, energy, agriculture and other areas of practical cooperation, including at the regional level, was noted.

A high assessment was given to the joint cultural and humanitarian events taking place these days in the cities of Kazakhstan.

The leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events at the highest and high levels, including preparations for summits in the “Central Asia Plus” format.
