Views exchanged on cooperation with Asian Development Bank representatives

On June 18, 2025, a meeting was held between a delegation led by the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Bhargav Dasgupta, and the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Kuchkarov, the Information service of the Ministry reports.

The meeting was attended by the ADB Regional Director for Private Sector Development, Enrico Pinali, Head of the ADB Representative Office in Tashkent, Kanokpan Lao-Araya, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Umid Abidkhadjayev, Executive Director of the Mortgage Refinancing Company, Murod Farmonov, and other key representatives.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, the results of jointly implemented projects and future plans, as well as socio-economic trends in our country.

In particular, the following areas were highlighted:

  • Support for infrastructure development projects;
  • SME development, including artificial intelligence and expansion of startup projects;
  • Private sector support;
  • Ensuring the stability of macroeconomic processes in our country, particularly maintaining the inflation rate at low levels;
  • Supporting green transformation processes, implementing new projects, as well as increasing energy efficiency in social sector facilities;
  • Accelerating projects implemented on the basis of public-private partnership, in particular, projects being implemented in the healthcare sector;
  • Supporting the mortgage market;
  • Expanding projects on efficient use of water resources;
  • Privatization processes.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperative relations and expand the exchange of views on the above-mentioned areas.
