On July 4, 2025, a meeting was held between the delegation led by the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Japanese ‘‘Sojitz Corporation’’, Kosuke Uemura, and the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Kuchkarov, the Information service of the Ministry reports.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy General Director of the Energy and Healthcare Department of Sojitz Corporation, Yasuhide Machida, the Deputy General Director of the Aviation, Transport and Social Infrastructure Department, Kanehisa Nango, as well as Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, Otabek Fazilkarimov, Umid Abidkhadjayev, and other responsible representatives.
For reference: ‘‘Sojitz Corporation’’ is a major Japanese trading and investment company (sogo shosha), established in 2004 as a result of the merger between ‘‘Nissho Iwai Corporation’’ and ‘‘Nichimen Corporation’’. ‘‘Sojitz’’ operates in more than 50 countries worldwide, investing in sectors such as power plants, mining projects, automotive supply, and agricultural modernization in many countries.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed developing mutual cooperation ties, further expanding areas of collaboration, economic processes in our country, and projects being implemented on the basis of public-private partnership (PPP).
