The next Uzbek-British business forum on entering international capital markets took place

A delegation of more than 40 representatives of Uzbek banks and organizations in this area is visiting the UK, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

During their stay, they took part in the Global Forum of Borrowers and Bond Investors, which was held in London on June 17-18. As part of the event, a business forum was organized dedicated to the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK in priority areas.

The event was attended by the UK Special Trade Representative for Central Asia and Azerbaijan Lord Alderdice, the leadership of the British Department of Trade and Business, as well as representatives of more than 30 leading financial institutions and companies in the country.

In his speech, Lord Alderdice noted that this year, Uzbek-British cooperation has reached a new level in terms of pace and content.

A high-ranking representative of the UK government emphasized the importance of cooperation in the financial sector, drawing attention to the successful placement of Eurobonds on the London Stock Exchange by the government and companies of Uzbekistan.

It was especially noted that bilateral negotiations with Great Britain have been completed as part of the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

A number of bilateral negotiations were held between representatives of Uzbekistan and Great Britain on issues of attracting international capital during the event.
