A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI), headed by the deputy president of the chamber, Muhammad Khamza Sarosh, the correspomdent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
During the meeting, the Deputy President of the RCCI highly appreciated the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan on the regional interconnectedness of Central and South Asia and confirmed his readiness to contribute to the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
In turn, the Uzbek diplomats provided materials on the economic and investment potential of our country, commercial proposals of domestic companies. Special attention was paid to the creation and registration of joint ventures, information on tax and customs tariffs was provided, and a presentation of the trans-Afghan railway project was presented.
The parties also discussed promising areas for further increasing mutual trade and investment. In particular, an agreement was reached on the creation of a cooperation group with Uzbekistan (“Pakistan-Uzbekistan Cooperation Desk”) and an online group for the prompt exchange of information on investment and commercial proposals within the RCCI structure.
In general, members of the RCCI delegation proposed a number of initiatives to further deepen bilateral, trade, economic and investment ties with Uzbekistan. In particular, regarding the organization in June-July 2023 of a visit to Uzbekistan by an RCCI delegation consisting of Pakistani businessmen to hold B2B meetings with representatives, followed by the conclusion of trade and investment contracts. In addition, a proposal to sign Memorandums of Cooperation between the RCCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan is being discussed.
